When King's Landing was being taken over by the Usurper, Rhaegar Targaryen had two children, Rhaenys and Aegon, that were--allegedly--murdered. Little did the rebels know, that the man they hired to kill Rhaenys was the man that helped her escaped to Essos with her remaining Targaryen family, where she is then betrothed to Viserys. This brings her a life of misery and solitude as she tries her best to avoid his advances and keep to herself.

When Daenerys is promised to the Dothraki Khal, Rhaenys meets the Dothraki translator, Thirro. Captivated by the mysterious man--who speaks the common tongue as though it was his mother language--she finds another benefit to his presence; the way Viserys cowers in his shadow.

The Blackfyres and Targaryens have fought many times against each other for the Iron Throne. Maelys Blackfyre was the last one to try and conquer the Iron Throne during the War of the Ninepenny Kings. Daemon, his cousin, was also killed by Maelys in order to get control of the Golden Company. Unbeknownst to Maelys, Daemon had a son called Aegon. Aegon fled after seeing his father being murdered and set out to travel among the Free Cities of Essos. After a few years of mercenary work, he settled near Volantis and started a family. Now his daughter, Visenya Blackfyre, is going on a journey that will change Westeros and Essos for generations. ~ I do not own Game of Thrones or any of the characters except my own~ I like to thank bobissocool11 for creating his book 'A Dragon's Flame'. It inspired me to write this story and it may have some overlap with that story. I highly recommend you read his/her story. Lastely, this is my first story ever. I hope you will enjoy it. The competition that this book was part of was FANATIC AWARDS. It got second place. The competition only consisted of three books, so take from it what you will. He didn't even notice how his court had split into two rival factions. There was The Green Faction led by Queen Alicent and her father, Otto Hightower. Then there was The Black Faction led by Rhaenyra Targaryen and her uncle and husband Daemon Targaryen. Both Factions fought for control over the most power position in all of Westeros, The Iron Throne. (I do not own GOT/HOTD. Everything belongs to George R.R. Martin and the writers of the shows and all that stuff. This is a fanfic based on the Fire & Blood book writen by George R.R. Martin.)
