Dan was alone with his thoughts now that his brother was gone. His friends left him too; Dan was too self destructive to be around. So now he was alone parents with who were blaming him for his brother's demise.
Enter Phil, externally an adorable ball of sunshine that, truth be told, annoyed the hell out of Dan. But, being on his own most of his life, was internally drowning in his own loneliness.
And as it turns out, finding the other person was the best thing that could've happened to them.

" Phil, I have something to tell you," Dan says, unaware of what he's doing.
"Yeah?" Phil replies, concerned.
" I think I...... actually never mind." Dan quickly regret saying anything in the first place.
"Can I tell you something then?" Phil asks quietly."I love you."
