In a world where everything is predetermined, two people dare to break the rules and run away.

In Karim, there are the presentations. Where both young men and woman, all age sixteen, are tested on their skills and placed in one of four groups by the creators. Unfortunately, it isn't as simple as that for Avalon (Ava for short), a seventeen year old who's failed this test once before. But she doesn't want to pass, afraid that she'll be moved away from her best friend, Anthony.

But, the two of them escape into the outskirts. And along the way come across many obstacles, including people they knew and had friendships with.
