When she begins her year on Hogwarts, she has no idea. Her father is the new professor for Defense Against Dark Arts and her mother is a proud member of the Black family. She got sorted into Gryffindor and thats supposedly the reason why they aren't on the family tree. But she doesn't know its all a lie, because her father doesnt turn out to be who he claims to be.
