Layla Valdez is invisible. Well most of the time she is, unless she's being targeted by Raynie Taylor and her boyfriend Ryan Welds. She has two best friends. And as far as she knew, she had never had talked to a boy directly on her own. Unless that is family and teachers counted. Teachers have to look at seating charts to remember her name, even though it's not that hard to say. Then one day, she bumped into a guy. A guy that she didn't even know was the bad boy of the school and one of the most popular guys. His name is Luke Angels. Which cracked her up. He was nowhere near being an angel. A bullying session with Raynie and Ryan brought Luke's attention to Layla. His gang of boys and he save her. They become her guardian angels. But as Luke and Layla get closer, Layla realizes something. Luke's sarcastic, irritating and annoying behavior does something to Layla. He makes her laugh, pisses her off, and irritates her to ends.
