' You have forgotten yourself over the years, Susurratrix."His smile was cold and greasy," Oh, no. It is not I that will kill you. It is you that will kill yourself." Marcus roared, "What have you done, you stupid man?" "The gladiatorial games," I echoed, "You've sold me as a gladiator." ' Rome knows her as Susurratrix. The Whisperer. A deviant and criminal mastermind that deserves death for all of her nefarious crimes. She calls herself (Y/n); a woman once known by a very different name, but who is running from her troubled past and into the arms of a future more perilous and insidious than she could have imagined. A criminal mastermind, she controls a legion of bandits and cut-throats who bend to her every whim and hunt like wolves for the objects of her desire. That is until she is betrayed by someone who she trusts most and loses her freedom, not only becoming a slave, but being put on death row as a gladiator. This baits the attention of the new self-proclaimed Emperor of Rome, Commodus, who has resolved to pave the path of his rule with the blood of his murdered father as he struggles to gain the respect of his new-found subjects. He is only beginning to realise that the hole left by Marcus Aurelius' presence may prove damning to him. Maximus Decimus Meridius, a scorned ex-general, has lost everything. His wife and child murdered by the very men he once served to protect. When Rome beckons to him again, he must gain his revenge by first surviving the battles of the Colosseum. This is the story of how their stories are twined together in the Cosmic Loom and their fates are joined. Their struggle is not only about love, lust or revenge but by keeping to their moral codes. The lines between good and evil will be crossed and the path to Elysium might just be lost forever. . . The roaring sound of the crowd drummed her ears as she sat in her seat, hands gripping the sides tightly as her eyes remained on the scene in front of her. What was once two men fighting was now one holding his blooded sword up in complete victory, a beaming smile on his face as those in the colosseum cheered more. She looked to her side, her husband to be with a blank expression on his face. His eyes remained locked in front of him, unamused as usual. She darted her eyes away from him, closing them quickly not wanting to look at the man to whom she was just an accessory too. But the sound seemed to simmer down, the feeling of someone staring at her ever growing on her senses, without thinking her eyes snapped towards the emperors who were sat in large chairs surrounded by the Praetorian guards. His eyes on hers. // After being sold away for a marriage between herself and a very much older member of the senate, Cecilia must find away to push forwards and reach the positives in her life that seemed to be drained away from her ever since she was sold away to live in Rome with a man she will not and does not love. But things begin to take a turn when a certain emperor makes his way present in her life, almost as if he lifted the positivity into her life.
