First came the mystics, by most standards they were gods and nearly untouchable. Then came the shadows and even the mystics couldn't stop them. All but a handful of mystics remain free and unharmed by the shadows and even fewer humans remain alive. The war between shadows and mystics is one sided. Chelby is a leader of a small group of surviving mystics that have done the impossible, survive a fight with a shadow. In Chelby's fight to protect her family she's realized that she can't hide anywhere for long and that she has to be ruthless. After coming under attack in their most recent safehouse Chelby decides to move her family to change from defensive and take the fight to the shadows, but in her fight to gather more mystics Chelby realizes thats shes going to have to fight for the freedom and safety she wants.

I was mid rewrite on this book so at some point the story jumps and shifts gears. Sorry not sorry. I'll adjust eventually.
