Desolate, hopeless, broken, the once proud kingdom of Audiel, now reduced to worthlessness. Disguising their devastated state with a wall of enchanted glass, with nobles standing mighty above the peasants they spit on, the kingdom desperately attempts to rebuild their kingdom after suffering a chaotic attack attack from the forces of a powerful necromancer. Friga Ardenia is recruited into the small paladin faction, and is tasked to watch over the citizens at night, though the story she gets in is far more than that. Soon, Friga will be sent on a dark and impossible journey, to pursue the attacker and end the suffering of all. But is there only really one side to all of this?

The world is at war and the Grand Duchy of Wesica is in the middle, literally. With the Thieblin Empire on one side and the Vassau Alliance on the other, Wesica struggles to maintain its neutrality - while profiting off both. After a fatal attack on his partner, Constable William MacIntyre tries to convince his superiors it was a werewolf attack but nobody believes him. Everyone knows werewolves were all banished from the duchy centuries ago. As if to spit in his face, he's transferred away from the action to a new position as liaison officer at Arkwright Academy, his high school alma mater. Disgusted with his superiors' denial, he vows to uncover the truth behind why werewolves were exiled in the first place and the reason for their return. His investigation may cost him his job, but it may cost Wesica even more if he's right and no one does something. Amelia Kalestas transfers to Arkwright in her final year of high school amid rumors of war between the world's two superpowers. News of her being a troublemaker spread like wildfire when on her first day she performs a spectacle. Whether it's fate or misfortune, these two people are tied together due to their circumstances. Amelia eventually blackmails MacIntyre into forming an equal exchange partnership: she'll help him get access to the files he needs for his investigation, while he promises not to report her and her friends for drinking during prohibition.
