Amy is an over - achieving medical graduate but when she is persuaded by her fiancee to attend a party that turns into a dinner party for zombies, she ends up joining the living dead. He finds her, and because of her dormant wolf, he thinks she's human. Soon she goes missing, because her pack members sold her to a rogue pack. Alex searches, and searches, but cannot find her. Her wolf has to completely go dormant, because it's just causing her pain and she would died of she didn't. Alex thinks that she's dead, because he felt the connection between them break. He finds another girl to be his mate, and when Ashleigh is found, she is heartbroken. Not only was it her pack that made her suffer through all that because they sold her, but her mate had given up on her because her wolf had to go into dormancy. She falls into severe depression, and develops a form of PTSD, that was formed from the shock she had from her pack and mate's betrayal.
