After receiving a phone call informing him that his father is dying of cancer, Michael Hale returns home after six years in order to say goodbye to his father. Because of an accident six years prior, he also must try with all his might to gain forgiveness from his mother, sister, and twin brother. The problem is that has absolutely no courage to do so. Fortunately, within his first two days back in his hometown, he begins to spend time with David, a man who works at the hotel where Micheal is staying, and, after some time spent together, David teaches Michael that he can confront his family and gain the courage he never had. They quickly fall into a beautiful and true romance, both realizing that they were meant for each other, in a way neither had experienced in their lives. Problems arise and they both have secrets they have been keeping from each other. Unfortunately, David's omission may be great enough to force the men in separate directions for good.

Michael wonders whether or not soul mates are supposed to end up together or not. After years of sobriety and hidden orientation, Michael must now decide what he is supposed to do. Is he supposed to fight for David and convince him that they are supposed to belong together? Or is he supposed to let David go, and let him find his own way? Can the right future for both men be together? And how is Michael ever going to arrive home?
