Welcome to The Steam Empire! In this Steampunk alternate history, the London-based  East India Trading Company is conquering the world. Already, they control all of the South Pacific except for a collection of rebel outposts. They have struck an alliance with the Russian Empire in hopes of using them as partners to conquer and control Asia and the Middle East. 
  
  Meanwhile, The United States is entering its fifth year of the Mexican-American War. They have continued the campaign south in an effort to control Central and South America for all its riches. Their grip of Mexico is firm from the Rio Grande to Mexico City, yet south of that is still in the midst of war. Their army, now stretched thin, may provide the perfect opportunity for the EITC to expand their territory. 

The fall of the world seems imminent. Only you can stop the enemy, and restore peace.

  
  This is a brainchild of two authors who were inspired by The Forgotten Realms' open-world concept. All are welcome to join and write their own additions to this collection of stories.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if England still followed the doctrines of the Catholic Church due to a fervent civil war which would prevent them from being a relevant world power, the United States of America from being French, Spain from collapsing, or Australia from being German? In The Canyon-Blume, these and many alternative history scenarios can be encountered. It covers not only geopolitical changes, but also the technological and social evolution of mankind in a world where due to technological advances, wars are much more common. The first half of The Canyon-Blume focuses on letting you know what this world is like and what is going on inside it. And in the second half of the book, you will experience the life of a father named Boris Winkler von Lüneburg, who tries to save his entire family from war, extremist associations and the cold. It is important to mention that due to the meteorological effect of the Great Atmospheric Deviation Anomaly, by its abbreviation GADA effect, the world is cooling by leaps and bounds, governments all over the world, fearful, tried to hide this from the people, governments ordered to shut their mouths, some even forever. They knew perfectly well that the end of society was near if this came to light, and with it their empires. For lovers of alternative history, steampunk-style, novels and climatic disasters. All maps & infographics are at the last chapter.

The Suggestion Box, Vol. 4: A to Z Challenge autorstwa KartheyM

Back in June, I decided to take the "A to Z Challenge", which usually involves writing something centered around one word corresponding to each letter of the alphabet. It being a short story challenge, occurring weekly, I decided to "up the ante" to incorporate the rules of a Suggestion Box list (Name, Place, Time, and Object) and turn it into the next iteration of this series! Forthwith, I went through every letter of the alphabet and tried to look back over any previous story that I'd written (except the fanfiction) to find characters whose names began with each letter. Most of the time, I could find a character from a previous Suggestion Box installment (so be sure and check out the referred "original stories", always noted at the beginning of the tale!) but I also took the opportunity to use characters from other unfinished novels, and even a few opportunities for tie-in stories to my published novella, "Princess of Undersea."

Humanity once stood on the top of the world. They ruled the planet with an iron grip. Their rise in technology, industry, engineering, and science were quickly growing. However, an invasion on a worldwide scale had occurred in late 2023. Though there were initial successes in repelling these unknown, mechanical entities. They would eventually start to gain ground through quick adoption of newer variants of their beings and adjusting to counter common military tactics. However, more was needed, so came the introduction of Nikkes, an experimental female soldier that would be the first cybernetic frontline soldier. Even though there were attempts of converting males to such a task, they would become unsuccessful, as it was found out that males were more susceptible to cognitive dissonance and suicide. And so, females ranging from 18 to 30 years of age would remain the main source of Nikkes. As the war raged on, more variants of Nikkes would reinforce or replace the quickly diminishing forces of the world. There would be a significant breakthrough in the Nikkes, with the introduction of the Grimm models of Nikkes. Five Nikkes would be produced by a now defunct company. This squad would be called Goddess. They would be commanded by a special forces Captain Nicholas Miller, and through their first missions, they would further prove the effectiveness of specialized Nikkes and even push the Raptures back some. However, even their efforts would not be enough to stop the tithe of Raptures from encompassing Europe. After many years of fighting, there was one last desperate defense of a structure known as the Ark. Unfortunately, humanity would end up underground where they would spend the next 5 centuries fighting the raptures in smaller scale battles, skirmishes, and special operations. All while the fates of Goddess squad and the now legendary Captain Nicholas Miller had remained a mystery.
