Dan is kind of a loner who has an abusive father and has no friends due to him never talking. He is often bullied.
Phil on the other hand is the average teen but once he moves to a new town and school he begins to get bullied as well. He is shy but he talks to people...just not first and if he does it must mean he is either lonely or wants to make new friends.
