"What do you want with me," she demanded softly, her voice quavering as her cheeks heated with embarrassment at his reference to her actions of the night before. This bantering, flirtatious side of Zeke was turning her insides into a confusing mush.
Zeke stopped his advance, leaving two feet of space between them, his fiery eyes boring into hers with a look of intense determination.
"Everything," he admitted huskily.
The answer took her by surprise. A flash of heat spread from the back of her skull to her toes, as if she'd been struck by lightning. Every nerve felt like she was on fire. Her wolf hummed with pleasure at the sensations while her human self felt like it was drowning in an ocean of panic. The dichotomy of her split emotions was a chaotic confusion she had never felt before.
"You're going to...um," she stuttered, frazzled. Her eyes darted around the room, looking for anything to distract her from the heat in his unbroken gaze, before finally settling on the smooth marble floor under her bare feet. She cleared her throat to start again. "You're going to need to be a little more specific."
