I figured that since I was going to die, I should write a letter to my parents. But in the event that I survive, I didn't want to be branded as a curse. But I can't live. I just can't. I bet you're wondering why I would want to commit suicide. Why would this seventeen year old, smart, pretty girl want to commit suicide? ***** The reason is simple- I made some bad decisions. Decisions that later bit me in the butt.The first thing I remember of being a child, and my first ever memory is a bitter one. ***** And without a second thought, I take a swig of the opened beer by my side and throw some pills into my mouth. I swallow. I stare at the clock and wait. Nothing changes. Her smile, her eyes, the dimples. Everything about her was perfect. I reached out to touch her, I didn't know her but there was a comforting feeling in her presence. You could just look at her and you knew you were going to be alright. "Who are you?" I wanted to ask, but she just smiled and shook her head. Could she hear me? I wanted to know who she was. Was she real? Was she someone I invented? Just as I was about to reach her, she vanished. And just like that, I was alone. "Um, hi! I'm Laney, I just moved here from Texas. My family's been looking for a new start and it seems Manitou Spring Colorado was the place to be. New home, new school, new friends. I think I've finally found a place I belong."
