The Anomalous

In the Four Kingdoms of Anthea,
when a child turns five years old,
his or her parents will hold their breath
in anticipation. If after the first five minutes,
nothing appears, they continue celebrating.

However, if a mark does appear, the child is scorned
and banished from the kingdom into the Barrens, where
the world is kill or be killed.

We are called the Anomalous, and this is
our story of survival
