When his illness returns he decides he's hS enough of hospitals and treatments. So mark runs away from it all, with just his small dog for company and a big plan to climb to the the top of the mount rainier, even if it's the last thing he does..

Heatwave and Quickshadow are a happily married couple and they live in Fort Worth Texas. Heatwave is a firefighter and Quickshadow is a pediatric oncologist who works at Cook Children's hospital. He makes friends with seven other kids in the hospital with the same type of cancer. They become the best of friends and decide to fight their cancer together.
