Damien's arrogant isolated attitude came from being praised for his natural talents and heritage. The son of the bat was forced to join teen titans against his will. Claiming he works better by himself he kept to himself and resented his new team mates believing he was superior to them in every way and there presence would only be a hindrance to his goals. His dark and lonely personality was only truly understand by one person. Raven was born to a omnipotent demon lord bent on the destruction of earth so she knew a thing or two about darkness. Refusing to be alone she found refuge among the Titans claiming them as her new family. When the team gets a fresh Robin she sees him as petty and misunderstood. Being the only one capable of understanding Damien's personality she began to warm up to him and seek to gain his trust and friendship.
