Smirking he watches me fall to my knees perplexed, and I watch as he walks out calling on of the guard to haul me out.
  
  
  Damon soon to be King searches for his mate, not for love but for the power and throne. Having yet shifted River is the mutt of the pack. Disowned by her family river prays for her mate to rescue her from her hell.
  River well aware of his whorish ways hopes he changes for her, but as soon as he claims the throne he rejects her. Abandoned, River discovers her true self  not only a werewolf but a hybrid. She meets a group of her own kind that she now calls family.
  
  Much too soon River and Damon meet again, but Damon is different ...regretful. Having been trained River has turned dark and stoic and only showing emotion to those she cares about. Dark thoughts surround her as she blends so well into the darkness she becomes a part of it. Will Damon pull her away from the darkness she has faded into?
