The rumbling of stone eccoed in the empty halls of Erebor as the dragon chased them toward the forges. Bilbo triped over the many pieces of rubble and fell. The Arkenstone rolled out from his coat and he strambled to grab it. As he had gotten a hold of it Smaug's tail swept towards him. The dragon's tail pushed him off stable ground.
Bilbo had only a moment to recognize the disapperance of stone beneith him before he tumbled down into the darkness bellow.
His friends couldn't hear his scream over the roar of the dragon.

Only then did he realize how his hand had come to grip Rayne's as he had now let go of his collar, how much force he was exerting in preventing himself from letting go to the point where he could see the limb tremble and the veins now more accentuated on the surface of the skin. "Tears? What tears?" He asked slowly and in a feeble voice, not being able to understand what the other was referring to. Strinsi più forte la mano sull'impugnatura della spada Finalmente gli alberi davanti a me si aprirono e potei osservare quello che accedeva. Un uomo dai capelli ramati stava davanti a due piccole figure, sembravano bambini. Avevano della spadine in mano ma sembravano non sapere come usarle. La spada dell'uomo era sguainata, sporca del sangue nero degli orchi, che continuavano a corrergli incontro, cercando di ucciderlo e di afferrare i bambini dietro di lui. Strano. Sulla cima della collina davanti a lui un grande orco incoccò una freccia puntandola contro l'uomo.Complete

"Il pagamento promesso per la tua testa" disse Gandalf mentre mostrava a Thorin un messaggio scritto nella lingua nera "c'è una taglia sulla tua vita". Il nano lo guardò, sorpreso e allarmato. In quel momento la ragazza vestita di rosso tornò. Il fuoco sembrò brillare più intensamente di prima. Si sedette togliendosi il cappuccio: "Ma per il momento sei al sicuro a Brea" disse con un sorriso rivolto al nano. Lui rimase per un attimo immobile a studiarla. I capelli avevano il colore dell'ambra e le ricadevano bagnati e ribelli sulle spalle con un paio di ciocche più corte davanti agli occhi. Occhi grandi, quasi neri con strane screziature rosse, che li facevano assomigliare a braci ardenti, che lo osservavano curiosi. Il viso era bellissimo, senza età, le ricordava un elfo. Gli occhi del nano scattarono verso le sue orecchie ma erano coperte dai capelli. Le sue labbra piene si incurvarono in un sorriso lieve, come indovinando i suoi pensieri. Qualcosa si mosse dentro di lui, qualcosa sepolto molto in profondità che non conosceva. Ruotai su me stessa giusto in tempo per bloccare l'ascia che stava calando sulla mia testa con le mie due spade incrociate. Il colpo fu forte ma resistei. L'ascia fermò la sua corsa, sentii il mio piede sinistro che scivolava e affondava un pò di più nella sabbia dell'arena. La pressione dell'ascia era sempre forte ma eravamo in un momento di stallo. Ormai ero abbastanza forte da resistere anche a mio padre...padre adottivo in realtà. Flettei i muscoli delle braccia e con un movimento fulmineo, divisi le spade, aggangiando l'ascia con una di esse e scagliandola, insieme al braccio che la teneva, lontano da me. L'altra la portai rapidamente sul petto del mio avversario. "Morto" dissi con un sorriso, spingendo delicatamente la spada contro il petto del mio avversario. "Yayyyy!" urlarono Kili e Fili che stavano assistendo allo scontro nella sala d'armi. Dwalin, il mio padre adottivo mi ricompensò con un sorriso e una pacca sulla spalla che quasi mi stacco l'articolazione dal busto "Ben fatto Iskra!" esclamò. #1 in hobbit (8.5.23)Complete
