**The only reason this account hasn't been deleted is because you guys really, really like this fic for some unfathomable reason. Sorry, I know, I kept saying I would come back. I won't. But the unfinished story is still here, for anyone who wants it.**
Once, there was a lonely girl who lived in the shadow of a monster. She wasn't sure at times where the shadow came from-outside herself or within her. This girl believed she was nothing special, a freak, a nobody to be locked away where no one could find her. She believed she was worthless, a burden, a pathetic child.
Little did she know, she was so much more. Eventually, this girl is rescued from her life of abandonment, of abuse, of pain, of loathing and of self-hate. She is pulled from her cruel environment and placed in a school that is, quite simply, magical. There, she finds so much more than she ever dreamed she would-friends, love, laughter, light and life.
But, is all as genuine as it seems?

Remus Lupin x OC // Marauder's Era - Book I
Some wars are waged in silence. Some loves are built in fire.
Artemis Black was never meant to survive this long. A daughter of a cursed house, a sister torn between shadows, and a girl who refuses to kneel - she's been many things at once, but never safe. With the war creeping into the walls of Hogwarts and loyalties unraveling like old spells, Artemis walks a razor-thin line between the people she loves and the secrets she keeps.
Remus Lupin sees more than he says. Haunted by a monster he never asked to be and drawn to a girl he's not supposed to trust, he knows danger when it wears a familiar face - and yet, he reaches anyway.
This is a story of stolen glances and forbidden letters. Of betrayal, forgiveness, and the spaces between. Of a brother's guilt, a friend's silence, and a war that demands too much too soon.
It's a slow burn.
Not every spark is welcome.
But some fires are worth the ruin.
Marauders-era.
Angst, found family, and love that doesn't come easy - but lingers, quietly, until it's ready to burn.
