Clare Thibodeaux returns in Winter's Icy Caress, the sequel to Exodus.  Clare's past is littered with death and sadness.  After her family's murders, she survived attempts by a domestic terrorist group to end her life to keep her from providing evidence to the FBI.

His reappearance causes relationship problems for Clare.  Her fiancé doesn't want her to have anything to do with her ex.  Clare refuses to have anyone dictate to her who can or cannot be her friend.  

As her personal life starts to fall apart, Clare finds herself embroiled in the search for the serial killer after she becomes his next target.
