The wrong way to be..?

Maxine McCarthy is a 17 year old who just finished her 3rd year of high school and has a huge secret and has to tell her best friend, Jess, who she could move in with. Her mother has a terrible boyfriend that abuses her, Maxine needs to figure out how to get himto go away. As she helps her best friend move in, there is a girl across the hall of her friend that is kinda cute to Maxine.
Description of Maxine (because i forgot to add into the story) Long brown hair, bright blue eyes and carmel brown skin. Usually wears baggy T-shirts and dark blue or black skinny jeans.
