"Are you afraid of a match?"
"Not really. I mean, it's only a small flame. Are you afraid of a match?" His eyes stared into mine; searching for the answer he wished he wanted.
"I'm afraid of the all possibilities that start with a small flame."
Rayne never wished for this to happen. She wanted to live a normal life. Study microbiology and get a good, well-paying job. Perhaps adopt a cat and name him Robert. But from the moment she was born, Rayne was to believe she would be living a normal life. And she isn't the only one deceived into it either. But certain people wish for their abnormality. And they'll do anything to get it.

I am not your typical 16 year-old girl going around obsessing over boy bands and clothes, I can't obsess over those things on a daily when everyday I'm in fear that the government will take me in. Have you ever had one of those terrible yet annoyingly pivotal moments? You know, that monumental fragment of time that flips everything you have ever known. That plot twist second that completely takes you by surprise. The one just before the storm hits and everything goes to hell. Yes? Because you see, that moment happens to be my whole damn life. It wasn't always like this though. I used to have a pretty mundane existence, happy to just get good grades and be around my friends. God I wish I could get that simplicity back, I'd never complain it was boring again. But I know I'm not going to ever get back my old life because well... I died. (Kinda) But I woke up. And I was thrilled, beyond grateful I wasn't dead. But then I realized that there was one minor detail that had changed about my reality. I was given the chance to live but it turns out I woke up as the villainess in an otome game my friend used to be obsessed with - Kingdom of freaking Hearts (I added the freaking in there for effect, it's just Kingdom of Hearts) Where, for the record, the villainess only has two possible endings 1) execution and 2) getting exiled. So Fate was like, "Don't worry, I'll save you. Here's a chance to live" and then was like "psyche, screw you. You're still going to die but I'll let you suffer a little first." So now, if only to annoy Fate by proving it wrong, I am determined to survive. I can and I will if I play by these simple rules: 1) Befriend Heroin 2) Avoid Aryn Edwards at All Costs as well as other capture targets And 3) Be the top student at the academy and become an invaluable asset to my Kingdom so I become indispensable, thus unkillable. I'm determined, stubborn, persistent and I will live passed 16. Fate made a big mistake setting me up to die. Since it threw this plot twist at me, I figure I'll return the favor. I'll be the biggest plot twist Fate never saw coming...

I know what you must be thinking. Why not name this title ' the adventures of Sharkboy, lavagirl and whatever my name is'? Well because that would of ruin the whole story. For this is not really my story, i was not created as a dream. I'm an actual human and I did not come from max, nor planet drool. I was born on earth like every other normal child there is. The only thing different about me is that I have a special power. Although I don't seem to know about this power, nor understand how to use it I'm a main target for everyone. I can rather save everybody from a terrible event or destroy everyone within seconds. Because of this I am very weary around people and shy too. As I try my best to blend in it becomes harder and harder each day to keep my self from exposing this energy. The worse part is I don't even know I have it! Well not until later on. WARNING: CONTAINING AMOUNTS OF SASS PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN TO MANKIND In the city of NYC--- Ok. Hold up. First of all, New York City. What, are ya gonna assume everyone here knows what NYC is? Anyway, this is about two people. I can almost hear you rolling your eyes. Another cliché teen fiction with a bad boy and a good girl? Nope. This is about superheroes. I can still hear you rolling your eyes. Superheroes. Like in comic books? Like people with super speed and mutant powers? Yes. But this isn't about the fight they have. More about the lives they lead without the masks. But just keep in mind, people who live in the world have all different skin colours. Do not assume my characters are of one unless I state them explicitly. and diversity is welcome here in my novel! Anyhow, back to the story. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. And if any of you got any of the references in this description, give yourself a pat on the back. That is a beautiful thing. Temper was always different, but not for all the normal reasons. For one thing, she had fiery red hair. That wasn't the only reason though- she also had a strange power, the power to control fire. She could create it, move it, and was immune to it. She could even absorb it. But her life wasn't all peaches and cream. When she was young, she was taken from her family because of her power. They probably thought she was dead and she didn't know if they were alive either. She escaped five years ago when she was twelve, but hadn't gone back to her family for fear of their safety. Now she was seventeen, living in the streets. Her life was bleak, that is until she met Nick. All she knew was that he was after her, but she had no idea why. [Completed] Alien staggered to her, but then he didn't find it easy to look her. Her face had been blackened and she was writhering in pain, smoke issuing out her sweaty body. Holes started to appear in the white dress she was wearing. Her eyes, which seemed they could pop out of their socket anytime, kept darting at Alien as if she wanted to tell him something. She held out her blackened hand to Alien. Alien was going to touch it when suddenly her whole body burst into fire and turned ashes like magic. Alien stepped back, and looked around. There were nomore monsters, but the ashes in their places. Xerxis was the only villain that hadn't caught fire and her corpse lay unharmed by anything but the sword. With smokes wafting from the ashes and the tent that had caught fire, the place was stuffed with smokey mist now. Alien found it difficult to breathe in there. Now he was a free man he could walk out the tent. But before he left, there was something he needed to do.Terminé
