The glow of the red and blue lights were shining in my eyes. I looked over to my best friend, who was sitting in the bus seat across from mine. She had blood oozing from her head and by the looks of it she wasn't breathing. I went to stand up to go over to her when I felt a terrible sharp pain in my right leg. I screamed in pain. I tried to think back to what all had occurred. It all happened so fast.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Leslie Smiths life was perfect. She was her high schools' head cheerleader. She was rich and was the most popular girl in school. Leslie's life couldn't be better. But one morning that seemed like all the wrest, she got into a terrible accident that hit her school bus. A semi had gotten into the wrong lane and hit them. *past* "Just leave Mary Grace." Teddy says to me with a blank stare, but I could see sadness built around them. "But Teddy, why-" I begin to say as a tear falls down my cheek. "No one wants you here loser. Ted never liked you. He just felt sorry for you." Savannah Oak says beside Teddy. I look to Teddy knowing that he'll stick up for me like he always does, but he is just staring at the floor. "Is that true?" I ask looking at him. He looks up and nods. Two broken souls in the midst of a crazy world. Two souls running away from their past. There was no light at the end of the tunnel. The tunnel was cracking, slowly closing in. When these two connect, as if they were set on the same path, light creeps in through the cracks, and for or a moment, the tunnel seems to have a way out, but what if it collapses before they make it? - "You saved my life." The words come out as a whisper, I've been dying to say that. I thank god every day that he came into my life when he did. "Fuck Vivian, you don't know how much I needed you." I tear up just a little as he speaks, I don't know the last time I cried happy tears. I bring my hands up to cup his cheeks, resting my forehead against his. "No matter how much I push, I don't mean it. Please don't give up on me." My words seem to relieve him in some way as I feel his shoulders relax. "Even when I'm gone, I'll be by your side, forever." "aargh!" I was still figuring that out when suddenly, a bright light was shone on my face.I felt my eyes burn, trying to retain minimum light and it quickly adjusted as fast as it could.I looked towards the light-it was a van, honking and revving simultaneously.Even with my partially blinded eyes, I stood up slowly, minding my surrounding carefully as I tried to see the person in the van.Took me a split second to recognize the person and at that moment, I remembered how this nightmare started."Yes, yes, I remember everything".Those were the last words I said as I watched the van head my way and then.....Complete

Growing up in a large, middle-class (if not lower) family had its challenges. More than I can account for actually. I had five older sisters and two older brothers. Throw me into the mix and that's a grand total of eight children living under one roof. If my mom hadn't stopped with yours truly, we would have definitely been able to form an entire soccer team with just our family alone. I can't recall much of my childhood and exactly how I interacted with each and every one of my siblings, but I can assure you that it was nowhere near a nice walk through the park. Even until this very day, I still stand by my statement. This is a story about a broken girl who fools the world with one simple action which requires less than ten muscles.
