Water sprinkled down my face washing away all the evidence of my previous and present pain. I closed my eyes and could see the man following me in the dark alleyway.

I had never seen a monster before, I had this misconception about how it would be. I thought for sure it would be dripping fangs and sharpened claws so to speak. I thought it should at least be easy to tell, that something so evil, so black would leave a mark.
