Humans were told stories about the woods, how murderers lie within it, and now a story is brewing up about there being a witch lurking within the deep, darker part of the woods. This part of the woods is known about by Slender, the tall faceless man that has killed many in the large woods. But even he does not enter those parts of the woods. And he has warned all who live in his mansion about the 'Dead Woods' being forbidden of entry. Everyone has obeyed this rule. But what happens when Sally accidentally stumbles into these strange woods? Where green grass is lilac and trees are tall and bare.
