What has happened to day to day life since Ellie and Joel left to find the fireflies? No one's left, and they have to find out the hard way. Ellie has been left in a state of trauma since almost being chopped up and used for food, she doesn't trust that Joel told her the truth about what really happened with the fireflies and she isn't listening properly. Joel has been worried about Ellie, causing him to become paranoid about her and he still hasn't told her the truth about what happened with the fireflies. Ellie found traveling with Joel to be both rewarding and simultaneously frustrating. It was like talking to a cold, emotionless brick wall sometimes. So imagine her excitement when they run into another group of travelers heading in the same direction, and they agree to travel with Ellie and Joel. The most exciting part? The other group has a girl their age. This is essentially a Ellie/Reader slow-burn fanfiction. It's also a fix-it fic in regards to the Last of Us Part 2 because I have personal issues with it.
