Brooke is a different girl. She was raised in and out of foster homes. Most children raised in and out of foster homes end up working at low-life places their whole life, but Brooke refused to let her situation and how much she hated her life dictate her future and how she could, and would, one day be happy. She worked as hard as should could to keep her perfect grades, and when the time came to apply to colleges, she had so many scholarships that she had everything paid for, even her textbooks. She got into Stanford, and fought hard to get on the Baseball team. Everyone was against it. Girls should be on Softball. So when she goes to tryout for the Yankees, the whole team is against it.
Until she hits the ball into the stands.
Her essence attracts the guys to her, but they hate the thought of a girl on their team.
Eventually, a wonderful guy will enter her life, addicted to her essence and her will and how mesmerizing she is.
Will Brooke be able to accept that somebody could actually like her for something other than her looks?

By her mother, the girls she calls friends, the guys in school, teachers, family, even Mark the mailman. Needless to say, she's sick of it. Its time Avery took control of her life or at least get a firm grip on the sucker. She's loved football ever since she was a little girl. Yet she could never play because ladies aren't supposed to do such barbaric things. Especially in the South- unless its a rodeo and you're wearing those ridiculously tight outfits that show you're navel or showing you can hold your liquor. Avery has longed to be on the field, throwing the ball instead of cheering on the team her dad coaches that can't seem to win. Then her best friend Austin forces Avery to and for sometime everyone is fooled. But the truth can only be hidden for so long. The moment the townsfolk of Stonehenge, Alabama learned it was a girl under that helmet, was the moment true colors showed. It hasn't been easy and it won't get any better but Avery is here to play. * Avery is going to face REAL life problems, and not nice people. She's going to deal with sexual harassment, mean words, rude people, pregnancy, injuries, steroids, etc.. In this story I want to exemplify how sexist and cruel humans can be. There will be hard moments, but I want to put it out there because it IS a serious problem. Harsh language and such will be present. You have been warned, don't read it then complain. Lola Castaneda never imagined herself managing the boys baseball team. She never imagined finding a family in those boys. And she never imagined herself falling for the wrong boy. Lola's day started off as normal as one should be: being stalked by her best friend's sister. As far as Lola was concerned, that was pretty normal. What she wasn't expecting, though, was to be approached by Taylor Harris, the definition of everything right in the world. She knew him because of her best friend, Sophie Jones. Since Sophie was the manager for the boys baseball team, Lola knew most of the baseball boys. It still surprised her that Taylor would talk to her, inviting her to the baseball group chat that included Sophie. It surprised her even more when her own sister asked her to fill in the vacant managers spot. Lola wanted to say no. Everything in her being told her to say no. She just didn't know why she said yes. Now her days were filled with watching the boys practice and fetching their gear, which was a little demeaning. She went along with it anyway since it would be a great addition for scholarships related to baseball. While being the manager, she befriended the worst player on the team -- Noah Dawson. He was always getting made fun of behind his back, so she decided to cheer him up by baking some cookies. That resulted in her almost killing him because she put peanuts in them. She thought he would hate her forever, but they became best friends after that incident. In such a short time, these boys became her family. And then the unimaginable happened: Lola was denounced from the managers spot. After that, everything fell apart. Until the home run kiss.
