A few month after the Sokovia Accords, everything seemed to calm down. Although, half of the avengers still weren't allowed to use their powers, most managed to get back to semi-normal life. For Sam, that meant going back to work at the VA and allowing Steve and Bucky to come live with him. He had no idea that he'd wind up falling for the winter soldier, all the while having to keep it a secret from their best friend.

She'd been weakened considerably by the intensity of the pain and blood loss but she could just about make out the sound of their bickering, her soldier's instinct drawing her out of unconsciousness.
