My breath was caught in my throat.
I walked as quietly as I could to him and knelt down my hand hesitantly reaching to pet his head.
He screamed terrified and tried to press into the wall turning his head away from me his eyes shut and his hands curled into shivering balls against his chest.
He was waiting for me to hit him.
