In the world of Ashbourne, powers are everything. They're your name, your reputation, and what you do and who you become in life depends on what your powers are. However, you don't get your powers right away. You get them when you're 12 or so. It's around when you hit puberty. However, I haven't gotten my powers yet. Some say I'm a 'late bloomer', while others say I have it already, and I just don't know it yet. However, that isn't possible, because as you get powers, you feel something. It's a kind of pull, towards the closest element to your power. You change as well. Well, your eyes do. But mine never have. They're just a boring deep drown color. Some will also say I don't have powers. I'm nothing, really. I'm a nobody. I'm one of those rarities that never get powers. That are just human. However, as I end up discovering secrets of my world I never thought possible, I find my powers along the way. Will they be able to save my city? Will i? Who knows..

**CURRENTLY A FEATURED STORY** highest ranking: #11 in Science fiction ❝true happiness is only achieved without freedom. There is a girl who wakes to a world that she was supposed to protect. Instead, she fights it. There is a man who is cursed with the ability to dream. A glass city is their cage, a city filled to the brim with unanimity and order, a paradise on an earth laid to waste by an artificial snowstorm. Sunlight filters through the glass buildings and through glass walls, pierces glass floors. It illuminates the city square when it is strongest at noon, surrounded by a huddled mass of citizens, all as perfect as the city they inhabit. And they all think: everything is as it should be. And it is. Or, it was. -- long live perfection.❞ (c)sarahgaier2016 #diverselit | #LoveEqualsLove | #helpfightcliches | #freethelgbtq | #badassreads check out my Science Fiction novella, Sector-33, here! https://www.wattpad.com/story/62174094-sector-33
