Rye finds out about the assassination and calls for her public execution, but before he can kill her, she reveals the one secret she has been hiding for seventeen years. Instead of killing her Rye uses this to his advantage and gives Emerson a choice. With her choice the two are tied together and are a battle that might cost them their lives. With enemies from every region and those planning their demise, the two must fight for the throne with everything they've got. While they fight for the throne they also fight for each other's hearts.
