If only there was one day more. There would be more smiles, laughter, and love. Maybe Grantaire would have forgiven himself for all the chaos he had caused in the lead-up to the revolution at the foot of the barricades. Maybe Enjolras would have been able to see past Grantaire's recklessness. Maybe they would have just confessed how they each felt. ENJOLTAIRE ONE-SHOT

------ "It's either the kiss or the revolution" Paris, France, spring of 1832 Victorie is like a friendly shadow at Café Musain. A girl who always welcomes the guests with a warm smile never thinks twice before helping Madame Hucheloup and brings snacks for the always hungry boys, hidden in the back room. To them, she's only a girl who works at the Café, a girl who is always there to linger around and listen to their meetings, criticize their opinions and to make sure they go home before three in the morning. Enjolras has always been annoyed by her presence, but never denied her entrance to the back room, partially because feared angering the boys and Madame Hucheloup who all seemed to adore this simple girl, but also because he always found himself unable to utter a reasonable sounding world in a conversation with her. With the impending revolution, the leader of Les Amis de l'ABC has no time to think about the irrelevant girl. Courfeyrac, their best friend. The centre of the group. He's always there to support his friends, to tell a joke or two and to mend everyone's problems. Can it be that he is not all he seems to be? What happens when the glue that holds everything together begins to break? Could the group survive without its joining factor? The choices to make are not going to be easy... One is known... Everything will change when the boys find out that Victorie is keeping secrets... ---- #1 in #Courfeyrac 28/03/2019. and 10/05/2019 / 28/12/2021 #1 in #lesmiserables 20/11/2018 and 3/1/2023 #2 in #enjolras 3/4/2021 Disclaimer: I do not own Les Misérables! "Listen, Enjolras... No matter what is going to happen tomorrow or any time after this night, I swear to God... I will always, always be there for you." "Will you?" "Yes, I will... I promise, my love, I will." ~~~ "Where... Where is he?..." "Where is who, Enjolras?" ~~~ Promises are hard to keep. He knew it from the moment he uttered those two words, from the moment he made Grantaire promise what he could never do. But it was nobody's fault, after all. It was too late, he could tell. He was deceiving himself from the beginning, that one promise was not to be kept anyway. Or was it?
