A woman named Sarah has too many drunken flings and ends up with a bunch of children she doesn't want and a bunch of men she doesn't care for. Each of her children go their separate ways with their respective fathers. Lauren is 19 and attends an international university overseas. When she comes home and finds out her father is dead, her life is turned upside down as she confronts Sarah, who doesn't seem to care and only enjoys getting drunk. She struggles with abandonment, especially after losing two sisters to foster care earlier in life. Phoebe is a 17-year-old rich girl. She has everything you could ever want in life--a big house, a nice car, and lots of money. The only problem is that while she seems like s perfectly happy girl in public, at home she is constantly abused by her father, who blames her for her mother leaving when Phoebe was born. The only person she has to lean on is her best friend, Josh. 15 year old Erica struggles with being s victim of bullying at her school. She begins to slowly grow more distant from everyone around her as she is thrown from foster home to foster home, and she loses part of herself every day. All she wants is to belong and fit in. When all these girls cross paths one day and discover they are sisters, it's up to them to determine whether or not blood really is thicker than water, and together they help each other through their problems, while striving for one ultimate goal: to confront their mother and force her to change her ways and become one family again.

... that changes everything Sarah was starting her junior year of high school. Looking at herself in the mirror, she saw a pretty average blonde haired, blue eyed, teenager. She was neither in the popular group, nor one of the many cliched outsiders. Sarah was a nobody. She liked to blend in and lay low. It was her way out of not only this town, but her house. No one knew it, but her father was a high functioning alcoholic that often took his anger out on his family. With her older sister now in college, it had turned to her more often. Laying low in general was a good strategy. Across town, Ryan was prepping for his final year in high school. While he wasn't the stereotypical quarterback of the football team, he did fit into the popular crowd. His sports of choice included basketball and soccer, either of which might line him up for a scholarship next year. Ryan had a group of close friends and a lot of adoring acquaintances. It wasn't easy juggling his athletics and keeping the grades up, but he was just that good. The supporting parents didn't hurt either. It might be a cliché romance, but it will be fun to see what the year and beyond holds. ------------------------------------------ This is a story I wrote years ago, or at least partially wrote. As I transcribe it here, I have tried to update it a bit and give the characters/story more depth than what I had when I was younger. Hopefully it all gets pulled together!
