One Girl

There was no true way of knowing what exactly would happen; all she knew was that it had to be done. That was all that she had been told and taught. Sarah was a born and raised fighter. She had come out of the womb fighting her mother had told her many a time. You even punched the doctor in the face! I swear it! She used to say. But that was back when she knew how to joke. A few years ago, eight to be exact, her mother fell into a trap, a trap that had sent her to the hospital 'because she fell' many times. The man that trapped her was a dirty scumbag. He was a prince in the beginning though. Sarah's mother, Eileen, was a hopeless romantic. Eileen was swept off her feet and soon after that married to Richard Schaub. He was a rich man with iron fists. Sarah's mother was pregnant when they got married, she didn't want to have her second child go without a father.
Sarah's sister was about to turn eight this week. Her mother had gone into the hospital again; this time was the fourth in the last six weeks. Richard was getting worse.
