Something is happening on Lothal, something that has to do with a strange Thalothian girl, a painting on the wall, a writer who only updates her story about once a month, and some old notes. Ezra can't undo the things he's done, but he can stop his past from ruining the future. But in order to do so, he has to except who he was, is, and will forever be. Also, what killed John the Fox?

They are trying to rescue wookies, but the mission goes wrong. The captain, Hera sends Ezra to warn Kanan, Zeb, Sabine, and Chopper. They all successfully make it out, except for Ezra. Zeb leaves him behind and the crew never comes back for him. Ezra manages to escape on his own, but his trust in people no longer exists. Some time later, Ezra meets up with the crew yet again. (So this story is from Spark of Rebellion, but the crew doesn't go back for Ezra.)

But now, back home on Lothal, Ezra has to find out how to survive. Meeting the Ghost Crew is not something he planned to do, but he does and when asked to join, he cannot. He doesn't want to end up hurting them because of the bounty on his head. But, realizing that being alone doesn't always mean surviving. Ezra must figure out if he needs to be with the Ghost Crew or alone to survive and whether or not he can finally find a new home and family after losing his and his family so long ago.
