All the books and movies portray love as this big explosive earth-quaking, butterfly-fluttering, body-shaking, life-changing, bond-making emotion. It’s supposed to be that thing that no one can live without. It’s what makes the world go round. If you’re about to slit your wrists the proper way, it’s the thought of love that’s supposed to save you. It’s love that’s supposed to bring out the sunshine when the days been crappy. It’s supposed to be the reason most of the human population wakes up in the morning.

The sad thing is that all that’s true, but somebody forgot to show me the fine print.

Love comes with an asterisk and you have to read the fine print. If you don't you'll find yourself with a right hand full of "what the" and a left hand full of "f*ck?"

My name is Monroe and let me tell you how I learned that the hard way.

~

Monroe Bennett was...is...was deeply in love with his high school sweetheart, Cianna Grant. They spent almost every waking moment together and things were perfect. However, when college graduation rolls around and his opportunity to play in the MLB comes knocking, unexpected circumstances cause Cianna to rethink life under the spotlight of fame. She decides to cut her losses. And with the losses...Monroe.

The unexplained departure devastates Monroe. It changes the person he becomes until years later when he finally gets the answers he wanted, and those answers just might be enough to make him reconsider everything he thought he knew about love.
