This is something I had started a while ago.
The story revolves around two very different souls and their take on the world.
A man who is somewhat beyond human, and a woman who is curious enough to snare herself into his bidding.
I'm hoping to get enough reviews to see if I should continue it or not.

The Games
Prologue: Earth has found out they're not alone in the universe. An alien species have contacted Earth, giving them a chance to be protected by the aliens out there that threatens the universe. They inform them that there are in fact thousands of alien species out there. The alien race, who calls themselves Opsidians, offer Earth a chance at competing in the Games, a televised reality competition game they host. In order to win the protection, Earth will have to send a tribute to the Games. They know little to nothing about the Games or these alien species. But after consideration, they don't see the harm in sending one. And realise it might be their only chance.Complete

Colossal Atoms
A single man attempts to navigate a planet that is not his own, with no memory of his past or how he got there. In his travels, he eventually comes across a gigantic, grimy and socially unequal city, controlled by a brutal military dictatorship, and fuelled by the matter of deceased deities, which reside in massive industrial zones underneath the city. Whilst in the city, he discovers rebellions, scientists conducting experiments that seem to go against nature itself and their horrific creations, eldritch horrors, and perhaps even newfound loved ones. One could think of this as a novel format of something that could reasonably fit into the soulsbourne franchise.

It begins near the end, with a man intent on destruction, who feels most of his humanity has gone. As with so many others. Set in a future where almost all sentient life on earth no longer exists. In writing The Captured I've tried going some way to explore what defines sentience. And considered the following: Would a machine entity recognize the distinction between itself and biological life - if it could replicate thought and action? And if it could recreate the exact function of a living being what difference does it make whether as flesh or machine?
