Dan Howell is a ordinary high schooler well accept from one important issue. He's a ghoul with a strong distaste for humans. Dan lives his life traveling from one school to the next hiding his secret from society. That is until he meets one extraordinary student Phil Lester. Can Dan keep his secret from the one person he truly cares about? Is he the only one keeping something to themselves?

All he knows (thinks, rather) is that his best friend is staying strong through all of the hateful things he gets from people. But in reality, that's not what Phil is doing at all. Sure, Dan might be able to crack some real smiles out of him once in a while, but not every time. He also wears long sleeves and thick bracelets to hide the scars of his pain.
