The island is independent and isn't really known as it's own country but it isn't owned by one. Somehow, it's three leader system works. The president, the Vice (just Vice), and the Counselor. Cassidy Lafayette, a mouthful of a name, is a teenage girl whose is wildly unaware of how bad her home really is. She is the daughter of Counselor Lafayette and is very popular in her school. One day, a girl showed up, shocking the whole island into a panic and disarray. They go on lockdown and Cassidy takes it upon herself to learn about what she is and why people are afraid of her.
