In 1929, the best of a treasured collection of more than 3,000 years of Chinese art and antiquities was boxed up and shipped out from the Forbidden City for fear that the invading Japanese would capture it. Until 1948 that treasure was on the move, often one step ahead of the Japanese and then one step ahead of the Communists. Empire's Lament is a fictionalized story about one of the workers who accompanied the treasure and an English solider who fled to the mainland after the fall of Hong Kong. Any comments on these first two chapters is very much appreciated.

Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party by Marvin_2016
1 part Complete
The Nine Commentaries were first published on November 19th 2004 by the Epoch Times, the most widely distributed Chinese language newspaper in the world. This series explores the history and nature of the Chinese Communist Party (the CCP). From its origins stemming from a branch of Soviet communism, the CCP imposed a foreign ideology on China. Traditional Chinese culture maintained strong spiritual values that served as the core unifying principles for China throughout its 5,000 year history. All of this has since been destroyed by the CCP from the time it took control over China in 1949. Through the “Nine Commentaries”, we will discover how the CCP emphasizes violent struggle against humanity, nature and the laws of Heaven to gain and maintain power, and how it indiscriminately changes its policies with complete disregard for morality, justice and human life. In its 60 years of rule, the CCP has been disastrous for both China and its people. Communist tyranny brought to China an estimated 80 million unnatural deaths, this number greater than the total deaths from the two world wars, and 13 times that of the Jewish people killed by the Nazi regime. Since its publication, the “Nine Commentaries”, has been the motivating factor to awaken and inspire over 90 million people to renounce Chinese Communist Party rule. These documented renouncements are made by mainland Chinese citizens choosing to quit the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliate organizations on a daily basis, averaging 20 – 40,000 people per day. The Epoch Times has noted that as the “Nine Commentaries” continues to spread throughout China, the rate of renouncements is accelerating. It has also sparked much discussion among the international community and has been the main topic of interest and concern in many worldwide forums.

Xie Kai thought he had finally found peace when he died saving a boy from undead claws after surviving ten gruesome years in the post-apocalyptic world. But fate had other plans. He transmigrated into the Qianhua Dynasty-one that didn't exist in any history he knew. Not only that, he was now the No. 2 Beauty of Zhēnghuà Kingdom, a rare Tèzhēn, and blessed with an unparalleled face, a loving family, loyal attendants, and breathtaking scenery to gaze upon. Life was perfect! ...Except for one tiny issue. The way he transmigrated? Awkward. The original owner had been drugged with a rare aphrodisiac that only worked on Tèzhēn. Worse? He had no idea who his "benefactor" was. 🔪 He wanted to thank them, truly. After all, they'd been kind enough to toss him into water (where he nearly drowned, and this continued for nearly two hours straight) before thoroughly devouring him, not even leaving him as a side dish. The hell?! He was out for blood now. Then-bam! The Third Prince popped up, offering to take responsibility. Xie Kai? Refused. He had zero intention of repeating a mistake. Things should have calmed down. But nooo, the Third Prince kept chasing him like some tragic hero in a romance novel. Then-plot twist-Xie Kai found out he was pregnant. 🤰 Now, not only the Third Prince but also the Crown Prince and the third son of a general's estate appeared. Third Prince: "Marry me-I'll keep you safe in the palace like a flower in a vase. And-I swear-I'm the father." Crown Prince: "He's lying. I am the father." Third son of the general: smirks "Got proof?" Third Prince: grits teeth, mortified "I... I left a bite mark on his flank." 😳 Crown Prince & third son of the general: "......" Xie Kai: who had already checked the bite mark that day "...It's true." 😑 And so, off to the palace he went-to become a delicate flower in a vase. 🌸 Is this the end or just a turn? Tell me, dear reader, what do you see? A story done, or more to be?
