Maggie and Jesse Smith are two twins living in Downtown Charleston. Their parents were murdered after a break in when they were just babies and now they are being raised by their aunt. On their eighteenth birthday, they receive two gifts: their father's dagger for Jesse and a ruby necklace for Maggie. Upon receiving the gifts, Maggie is warned that the necklace is very powerful and should be protected at all costs.
Against their will, Maggie and Jesse are thrown into a dangerous and precarious situation where any wrong move could kill them or a loved one. With every turn, they reach another dead end with seemingly no way to fix the issue. They're left in the dark and are forced to fight their way to the light by themselves. Together, they struggle to survive in a new life, something they never asked for.
With a group called the Forbidden Brotherhood chasing them down for the necklace, will the twins be able to protect it or will the Brotherhood get a hold of it and unleash the other side?
