What if Regina was so outraged by Hansel and Gretel's descision to turn down her hospitality that she curses them to be her adoptive children during the first dark curse.
In Storybrooke, Maine, Hansel and Gretel are Ava and Nicholas Mills, the adoptive children of the powerful mayor. However, when a woman named Emma Swan and her son Henry, find their way into Storybrooke on her twenty eighth birthday, Ava and Nicholas realize their mother is hiding secrets darker than they originally thought. As Regina is desperately try to keep the curse from being broken, a blue-eyed man who was a theif in his past life, manages to weasel his way into Reginas life. Regina knows if this theif knew who she really was, he could never love her, which only causes Regina to fight harder against Emma and her destiny of being the savior.

One of the strangers is, however, familiar to Athena and she isn't happy about seeing them again. A stranger arrives in town, who knew everyone and hated them all, and wanted to get rid of them. It isn't long until Mr Gold is ready to cash in his favor with the twins, to find his daughter. Mr Gold, the twins, and Henry travel to New York where the twins are reunited with a familiar face, Henry's biological mother.
