𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐬? A decaying kingdom, crumbling castles, and deserted streets. A kingdom once grand, now bathed in blood-red light. Tattered banners hang limply in the wind. 𝐈𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐬𝐞𝐬? A maid. Her face, determined yet desperate, walks the halls of a cold, imposing palace. Her hands tremble as she straightens her apron. A heavy silence surrounds her. A dark-haired prince, his face hidden in shadow. His cold eyes pierce through the darkness, his lips curl into a twisted smile. "The battleground is my kingdom. The King can keep his fucking throne." _ Vincent His bloodstained hands gripping the hilt of a sword. He pulls it free, ready for war. Thunder crashes in the distance. A prince, born to be king... but not the one destined for the throne. The Crown Prince, cold and regal, his eyes filled with ambition. He stands in front of a throne that seems too heavy for him to bear. Violence in the streets, the clash of swords, fire consuming entire villages. Suddenly, the music shifts, softening as we see the maid again-her eyes meeting Vincent's from across the ballroom. "Dance to every note I strike. Let it haunt your bones..." Prince Vincent: "Until you're mad... and bleeding." A tale of blood... of revenge... and betrayal. Where love and anger are painted with the same color of red. Who will sit on the throne when the blood runs dry?

Azumi was once a nobody, an orphan stuck in a dying wasteland. However, after one fateful day, Azumi was suddenly pulled out of that dismal life and into the life of the capital of Kouka. After quickly being promoted to Kouka's ambassador, and then Princess Yona's bodyguard, Azumi grew and developed into a deadly woman with Hak's annoying sense of humour. As the wheel of fate clicked into place and their small world was shattered in pieces, Azumi was left with two choices. To follow her beloved Princess and her brother like figure, or stay with Soo-won and to find out what led to the death of King Il. To read this book, you do not have to have read the original version. This is an Akatsuki No Yona Fanfiction, so all rights go to Mizuho Kusanagi on the storyline of the Anime/Manga. Only Azumi belongs to me. After a lot of consideration, I decided to re-write the story in a different book altogether. A reader made this suggestion so that others can still access the old book, so I'll honour that suggestion.
