Mystery
SV-7: a parasite that hijacks the brain, sending the victims who don't die of the infection into a spiral of delusion and deadly rage. It's spreading like wildfire, and the death toll is rising. With billions dead, survivors are suddenly thrown into a world with no time to run, and no one to trust. But that's not even the worst of it. If the survivors even had a fraction of hope that the horror would be over with the death of 90% of the planet, they'd be dead wrong. (This story contains slight gore and violence, please don't read if it makes you uncomfortable.)

It's been ten years since the fall of humanity. I was only ten years old when the zombies took over. The military told us to flee underground, explaining that it was safer. The zombies are smart, too smart. They can learn to hide themselves. Some of them disguise themselves to look like normal people. We tell them apart by checking their eyes. Zombies have enlarged pupils compared to humans. No one knows why. 🏆 3rd place in The Flames Awards Sci-Fi category 🏆3rd place in The Slayer Book Awards 🏆3rd place in The Siren's Curse Awards @ScienceFiction added The Dead Walk Among Us to their Zombies reading list.
