Alina Gilbert lived an entirely normal life up until the day her parents died. Not only did she have to deal with the pain of loosing both of her parents, she also discovered that she was a witch. Ever since the night of the accident Alina began to see things, visions of the past, of a familiar man, and of a woman who haunts her subconscious. She easily became overwhelmed by the loss of her parents and the fear of her new found magical ability's. Alina decided leaving her remaining family and her small town was the only way she was going to find any answers. During her journey she stumbles upon the supernatural community. First a small coven of witches who helped her learn some control of her magic and not long after the darker species followed. Vampires and even werewolves, both of which Alina was not fond of. Now a year later after learning to harness her magic Alina returns home to leave the supernatural behind and resume her once perfectly mundane life only to find the darkness had spilled into her home in her absence. Her younger twin sister Elena let the supernatural into her life and trouble followed. It's in Mystic Falls that Alina meet's Damon and he turns her world upside down. At first she blames him for all the supernatural problems but after a few occurrences Alina finds that the supernatural didn't just fall into her and Elena's lives, it followed them. And with the supernatural came Klaus, the original who has a dark and twisted plan set for the twins. Alina is set on a path that leads her closer to Klaus everyday. Will Alina let the supernatural take over and submit to her fate or will she fight to protect her family and the ones that she loves.
