Welcome to Alokane.
Some may say this place is crawling with wonderful life, people, spirit. Though there are others who know how cruel the world can be. My only hope is that in the end what has gone unnoticed can be reversed. Humans don't know how much their world had been tipped, how one creature out of four put in charge was able to bring that scale down to one side.

Weather the wrong is righted or chaos ensues, it will come out. The hope is that it will not cause the end... but even that isn't certain.

What comes after death if there is no place for the soul?

Everyone has heard of the story. After the Knights betrayed the system, were executed for their crimes, and were forgotten to time, evil began to rise one more, even in the absence of the Divilamu. So the highest sorcerers and elites opened a permanent bridge to another world, known as the great Summoning, and brought with it, champions from an unknown dimension, blessed with incredible powers. They took the task of defending the land from the darkness, and creatures that tainted the light, and issued a new era of peace. More powerful than any other race, they quickly became the ruling class. Now they rule behind any government, hunting and destroying threats. With a wide range of abilities, they saw no resistance. They were called Aldaraians. Jack is a simple farmer, living in the comfy town of Rorin. Like 90% of the population, he is a normal human. He does not mind, as he had a loving wife and daughter. A daughter who dreams of joining the ranks of Aldaraians. Then Jack comes home and finds his family dead. He devolves into despair, and then, clear thought, and rage. People he trusted neglected their duty to protect. Jack makes a twisted journey of revenge, making a few acquaintances along the way, he will take them down, by whatever means necessary. He knows deep down he will not survive, but he just wants to give them a scar, so they never forget him. How would you feel? If you were nothing? If gods from another dimension roamed, and did whatever they pleased. The old gods are nowhere to be found? The only gods are the ones that you see everyday? And most importantly, where is the line drawn, between Good and evil? Join Jack on this dark take on the implications of isekai. Will he get his revenge, or will he die, and life will stay the same as he rots in his grave?

Through thick and thin the Law shall prevail. A new sense of purpose awaits us, children of light, in the land where it all began. The darkness in which we once cowered in fear, now curbed by the might of our endless light. Come, brothers, come, sisters. Let there be peace among the wicked, just as the Law dictates. Peace and certainty is all that you have ever longed for, little angel. A bright, stable future. A roof without holes above thy head. Acknowledgement and recognition of thy existence, feverish dreams of grandeur. Greed born from yearning, treacherous vines of rapacity taint your innocent soul. You seek a future that does not exist. Let thy fingers hold the fragile line between dream and nightmare. Let thy light navigate the path. Shall thee give in and falter, O' land of old, envelop his body in thy unending flame of chaos. Spit out nothing but an empty husk, the remnants of a smile once so bright. Shall thee prevail, O', Great Kazdel, I ask of you, the impossible - take mercy on the innocent. Don't let the radiance dim and don't let the mind turn bleak. Wake, young traveler. Bid thy farewells and burn thy bridges. It's time to say goodbye, curly head. Cross post from AO3. For a shorter and more on-point description, look no further! I had something silly written up before throwing it out in exchange for that wall of text upstairs. It's a little story "about a young, dumb sankta who's been dealt a bad hand at life, looking for his place in all this mess. The pointless search for a better future leads him far, far away from home, to a country forever ravaged by war and misery - Kazdel, the promised land where devils roam free and peace feels out of place." Anyway, it's quite lengthy, but hopefully enjoyable? Slide a comment if you want, I'll give you a tiny kiss on the forehead. Man, do I love comments. (Lastly, to point out, English is not my native language, but I don't think it'll be much of an issue ;3)

And to the Forest, it may return. Umirin's people have lived within the ancient, powerful Forest since they had sprung to life there many generations ago. They respect the land they live off and worship the Heart of the Forest, the divine beast who sowed the seed it grew from long ago. Since its creation, the Forest had grown mighty. It is eternal. It is home. At least it had been, until a great tragedy many seasons ago changed everything. Now Umi's nation lives above the forest, in houses built on beams, to escape from the roaming beasts below known as Soulbiters. They are dangerous and deadly, but rooted to the Forest floor, only able to burrow through the soil. Above the tree tops, the people are safe from them. But man is not made to live floating in the clouds, and there are times when they have to travel to the ground. These trips are done by the best warriors and hunters, but encounters with the beasts are inevitable, and lives are still regularly lost to their curse. When Umi's beloved husband Shani is grabbed by the Soulbiters, he is prepared to do anything to save him from the gruesome fate that awaits if he is bitten. Anything at all. Even strike a horrible bargain with the beasts.
