"Are you really leaving forever, Adrian?" My voice squeaked as the tears finally began to roll down my cheeks. He looked down and shuffled his feet, before looking back up at me, determination in his eyes.

"I have a favour to ask of you." His nostrils flared a little as he spoke, his lips pursed. I quickly nodded, and he took my hand.

"Wait for me." He squeezed my hand. "Wait for me to come back." His eyes sparkled with determination. "When I come back, we can have as many play dates as we want! I'll even let you play with my toys."

I felt my lips curve up in a slight smile. "Really? Will you really come back?" He nodded.

"Of course I will! I'm a man, and men keep their promises." He puffed out his cheeks as he hit his chest with his fist. I giggled and put out my pinkie.

"Then I promise to wait for you." We linked pinkies, making it official. I would wait as long as I had to.

She looks up at me, taking a step forward and smiling slightly, "How can I ever get hurt when I have you here to protect me?" "But you could have gotten hurt," I murmur softly, hanging my head and feeling my shoulders drop, the tension seeping from my body. "No. Stop," She cuts me off sternly but tenderly, "Don't talk like that, Reece. I'm okay, you're okay, we're okay," She speaks softly, reaching her hand up to gently brush her thumb over my cheek, just under the cut that's there. "We're okay," I repeat, taking a small step closer to her. She nods with a small smile, moving her hand down from my cheek and instead placing the palm of her hand on my chest, right over my heart. I know she can feel how fast my heart is beating. I just don't know why it's doing that. ~ Reece Carter is the bad boy of Northwood High. He smokes and he fights. "What the hell did you do!?" I heard a feminine voice behind me. I groaned and turned around to meet a very angry face. I have never seen a girl this pissed before and honestly speaking, I am a little bit afraid. "She knew what she was getting into. Everyone knows I am player and I never stick to one girl." I shrugged and turned around to walk away. I didn't even take one step when I felt a firm hand on my t-shirt. She took a fist full of my shirt and turned me around so I was facing her. She then held my collar. Damn, she is almost the same height as me and if I would have been any normal guy, I would be terrified of her. "You don't treat girls like trash, asshole. She has feelings, she is not some toy that you got bored from after playing for a while. Apologize to her." She said through gritted teeth pointing towards Leah who was crying her eyes out. I noticed the crowd that started forming around us. I shrugged her hand away from my t-shirt and glared at her. "I will not apologize to anyone." I said slowly through gritted teeth. She is starting to piss me off. No one clashes me and no one stands against me. Even though I am new here, everyone knows that. I saw her eyes go blank and before I could duck, her fist made contact with my face and I felt sharp pain coursing through my nose. I held my nose tight and felt warm liquid flowing to my lips. Olivia Claire is a 16 year old high scholar. She is a fighter who never took anyone's shit and is famous for it. She mostly minds her own business occasionally helping people that might need her. He has been known to be a player in his last high school and he plans on continuing that identity. So, what happens when a typical bad boy clashes with a not-so-nerd bad girl.

*full available on Amazon. Free in KU.* Can you believe in someone who can't believe in himself? Maybe... Maybe I just wanted to get through Year 12, coaching, and soccer with no distractions. Maybe life had other plans. Maybe I shouldn't be drawn to Cole; the new guy who gets into fights and smokes. Maybe I should want to date Jaime; the nice, steady guy who's always been there. Maybe you can't help who you fall for, whether they're good for you or not. Maybe it shouldn't matter as long as you're happy. Maybe each new bruise on Cole's face is a reason to walk away. Maybe there's more to the secrets he hides and that's a reason to be there for him. Maybe a lifetime of pain can't be washed away by anyone else but you. Maybe finally proving that someone else isn't going to walk away is enough. Or, maybe it's time I got out of my own head and stopped wondering. Maybe it's time I just live by my own rules and find out the answers to all those maybes. It's time for no more maybes. A sweet YA romance about first love and learning to understand different experiences, this is Cole's story from Aurora's point of view. The companion novel, Gray's Blade, is from Cole's point of view; much like the characters themselves, Cole's version is darker, dirtier, and rougher. Read through to the end of No More Maybes for a sneak peek at chapter one of Cole's side. Please be aware that this story is set in Australia and therefore uses Australian English spelling and syntax.
