Eric then stared at Venus and he inhaled deeply as he cupped her warm face with his hands, closing his eyes knowing what he had to do next. He leaned his forehead onto hers and took in a breath of her scent, that scent he had come to love.
"No...But I am for doing this."
He whispered to her and she furrowed her brows as he looked back at her with tearful eyes. Eric then placed his hands on her shoulders and pushed her back. Venus gasped as she falls over the building and Eric looked at her as she falls to nearer to the ground reaching her death.
Eric had killed the girl he had come to love.

Dauntless has created an image for Eric after an incident during his initiation and no one knows the real him nor do they want to know the real him. When it is time for new initiates, he has to overlook their training as part of his leader training. When an Amity transfer gets a little too close to Eric, she wants to know who he really is, NOT the ruthless leader image he projects to be. Eric doesn't know how to react because no one has ever tried to get close to him before so how should he react? Will he react in a good or bad way? Does she despise the real Eric or will she help him let go of the past and love the real him? All rights/ credits go to Veronica Roth. Finding The Courage
