The best day of Luna's life - the day she receives her early admissions to Harvard University - is also her worst nightmare. It's also the day she is kicked out of high school for a misdemeanor set up by Olivia, queen bee and girlfriend of Logan, Luna's best friend, musical collaborator, and the boy she's been pining over since freshman year. When Luna receives a letter of invitation to teach for a summer in a South Korean test prep center that hires exclusively ivy-league admitted students, she accepts, knowing that the center hadn't been notified of her rescinded Harvard admission. She does it because it's a chance to visit the country where her Italian mother grew up, and where her father she's never known still lives. But all her plans change when shortly after Luna arrives in Seoul, she is recruited on the streets of Gangnam to join a KPop training factory. What ensues is a whirlwind journey behind the scenes of the Korean pop music industry and an adventure Luna was wholly unprepared for - meeting and competing with trainees from all over the world, searching for her father and her roots, and entering into a highly public romance with one of the country's biggest stars while questioning the role Logan is to play in her new life.
